Are you a creative thinker with excellent communication skills, keen to work in one of the world’s largest scientific organisations? We have a 12-month student position for a Junior Digital Communications Officer role within the CERN Digital Communications team.
The CERN Digital Communications team works alongside the Press team and Web team within the Media and Digital Communications (PRD) section in the Education, Communications and Outreach (ECO) group of the Stakeholder Relations (SR) sector.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the CERN social media activities, including community management, content creation, content curation and moderation, and monitoring.
- Contribute to the implementation of digital communications campaigns around CERN flagship stories in the fields of physics, accelerators, detectors, computing, technology transfer, international relations, and education, in collaboration with the section and group.
- Write science and technology social media posts from existing news items, as well as create content for CERN’s regular series.
- Contribute to the evaluation and monitoring of CERN media and digital communications activities.
Required skills and experience:
- Some experience with science and technology writing, especially for digital platforms.
- A strong interest and motivation for social media, including the online video environment.
- Some experience in communications and/or marketing related to STEM.
- Some experience in a multicultural setting would be an advantage.
- Some experience working in multidisciplinary teams would be an advantage.
- Must be proficient in English (at least C2), with a willingness to learn French;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to thrive at a fast-paced environment.

This vacancy is within the Administrative Student Programme at CERN, in which students spend a training period of up to 12 months on site at CERN during their studies (Bachelor or Master).
The preferred start date for the studentship post is 1 June 2026.
